International Trans Day of Visibility

What is the Trans Day of Visibility?     The transgender community is honoured on Trans Day of Visibility. In 2009, the year it was established by Rachel Crandall and Andrea James, the first Trans Day of Visibility was observed. He advises people to be financially prepared and emotionally detached before making this life-changing decision, as the consequences of coming out can be severe. For instance, he shares the story of someone who lost their home and job after coming out to their family. On the other hand, Anwesh Sahoo, Mr. Gay India 2016, believes that waiting for the "perfect time" is not ideal. Staying in the closet can be a tremendous mental burden, and he encourages people to come out whenever they feel rea...

Understanding Gender Identity and Expression: Embracing Diversity and Equality

Sex refers to the biological classification of individuals as male, female, or intersex, typically assigned at birth. On the other hand, gender identity is a personal and internal experience of one's own gender. It encompasses a person's sense of being a woman, a man, both, neither, or anywhere on the gender spectrum. Gender identity can be the same as or different from the sex assigned at birth. Gender expression, on the other hand, refers to how individuals outwardly express their gender to the world. This can include their behavior, appearance, such as clothing, hairstyle, makeup, body language, and voice. The use of chosen names and pronouns also plays a significant role in expressing one's gender, as others often perceive and recognize a person's gender through these aspects. It's important to note that a person's gender identity is distinct from their sexual orientation. The term "trans" or "transgender" serves as an umbrella term e...
